I was born in small town in Jamaica called Lawson; a family of six siblings, three boys and three girls. I grew up watching my mom create amazing dishes out of earth's natural ingredients. That is where my love for cooking began. As a young teenager, I remember being sent to the grocery store by my oldest sisters and brothers. Most teens would hate these tasks. For me, these were my favorite days. I had a chance to sort through the produce and bargain for better prices at the local markets. I still remember the fresh scent of produce ranging from fruits, herbs vegetables, fish, and all sorts of proteins. Along with the smell of wood burning once I returned home, in preparation for that nights’ delicious meal. I soon developed into the young cook of the family.
At 21 years old, I relocated to Chicago, Illinois and began my career in culinary industry. Ten years of hard work and dedication landed me the position of Executive Chef at "The Signature Room" at 95th; one of Chicago's finest tourist attractions. This culinary journey has led to amazing experiences, from receiving the Escoffier award in 2013; a rigorous industry skills training, as well as professionalism and excellence sought by employers to make a positive impact on the direction of American food culture and participation in culinary exchange with China and Japan.
My dream is to one day pass on this love for cooking to my children. My passion for innovative cuisine and the creation of succulent dishes has manifested the art of a personal chef. It is a pleasure to give my clients an elegant experience of fine dining in the comfort of their own homes.
